Romu Stool

This stool utilises 236 individual offcut pieces destined for scrapping or burning.

“Creating this stool made me think more deeply about materiality than form. Before, I tried to recreate the stool through its form, but soon, I realised it was already a tried-and-tested formula. Three legs will always be strong enough and will always sit level, so adding or removing legs seemed impractical. Practicality was a firm rule I wanted to follow, and it has guided me to take a more material-science approach to furniture instead.”
