About me

My work centres around a materials-driven approach involving practical research through my interactions with the material. I am not looking to reinvent the chair; instead, I am using the chair as a silhouette to showcase different ways we can utilise materials we are so quick to discard. In today's context, we are in the midst of a linear throwaway culture detrimental to our finite planet. We must transpire to a circular economy and drastically alter our approach to materials.

As a maker, I am fascinated by processes ranging from completely powerless green woodworking to the high-tech capacities of CNC machining. Each speaks a language of craft that requires in-depth knowledge to master. In my work, I combine these skill sets to test the limits of craft and design to produce functional yet aesthetically pleasing outcomes that embody sustainability through carefully selected materials.
